Students: TIPS FOR WRITING:
1. You have ninety (90) minutes to write to the assignment below.
2. Think carefully about what you are going to write before you begin. You may want to use scratch paper to list
ideas before you begin writing.
3. You may use a dictionary or thesaurus to help you.
4. Write the final draft on the lined response form:
·
Use your best
cursive or manuscript handwriting.
·
When you have
finished your story, reread it to make sure that you have said what you wanted
to say. Erase or draw a line through any
errors you have made and rewrite. Please
do not use “White Out” or other correction fluids.
·
If you finish
early, put your head down on your desk and relax for a few minutes. Then, reread your paper.
·
Limit your
writing to the front and back of one Response Form.
·
Include only
details in your story that could really happen.
5. You may use regular or erasable BLACK BALLPOINT PEN for your essay. Enjoy your writing.
NARRATIVE
PROMPT Background:
Everyone enjoys a good
celebration. A celebration may include
many people or just a few people who gather to honor someone or to recognize a
special occasion. Perhaps you came
together for a birthday, a baby’s birth, a holiday, a homecoming, or a
wedding. People also celebrate such
things as new seasons, religious ceremonies, graduations, or other special
events. Write a story for your teacher about
a celebration that you remember well.
