Accreditation

Introduction

This website provides information on State of Idaho requirements for school accreditation. Public secondary schools serving grades 9-12, including alternative and charter schools, are required to attain accredited status through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS). Public elementary and middle schools and private schools may voluntarily seek NAAS accreditation.

  • To check the latest information on State of Idaho accreditation requirements, look in the What's New in Accreditation section below.
  • To speak to someone regarding NAAS accreditation, contact the Idaho Executive Secretary, Cheryl Charlton; the Idaho State Chair, Pat Charlton; or one of the commissioners listed in the right-hand navigation bar.
  • If you want information on how to join NAAS and become accredited, this information is found under NAAS Downloads. For this school year only, disregard the August 1 deadline for submission.
  • To go directly to the NAAS website, scroll to the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools heading and select the live link.
