What:
This free ten-session webinar series introduces and supports the conceptual framework of 5 Keys to Quality Assessment to ensure balanced and accurate assessment systems. It is available for credit through Boise State University.
The webinar presenter is author, speaker, and previous educator/administrator, Tom Schimmer. Tom took part in the Best Practices Institutes last summer and was highly rated by Idaho educators for his clear communication and engaging presentation style.
Sessions will be offered live with a question and answer period following and will also be recorded for later viewing. Each webinar session lasts 1 hour, with 15 minutes prior to start for log-on and 15 minutes following the session for questions and chat.
These sessions are designed to reinforce and integrate with existing assessment professional development, so even if you have participated in assessment literacy professional development offered by the Department over the course of this past year, these classes will be valuable to you. The series is also appropriate as an introduction to best practices in assessment and provides assessment literacy topics that are crucial for moving to Smarter Balanced assessments.
This webinar series supports the goals outlined by the Idaho State Department of Education for Formative and Interim support. Each webinar builds upon the previous session. The target audience for webinars 1-8 is classroom teachers and instructional leaders. Webinars 9 and 10 are targeted toward instructional leaders/administration.
