The Accounting department at the Idaho Department of Education handles the internal accounting as well as:

  • Federal fund distribution payments for federal programs
  • Payments to vendors, contractors, school districts, and other educational institutions
  • Management of the Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Department budget, commonly confused with the Superintendent’s Public Schools budget
  • Management of the department’s fixed asset system and surplus program
  • Assisting with state and federal audits
  • Liaison to the Office of State Controller’s applications used by many of the department’s customers

We provide our users with guidance and answer their questions regarding the Grant Reimbursement Application (GRA). This application allows school districts, charter schools, and other educational entities receiving federal funds a mechanism to electronically request reimbursement.

Note: Anyone suspecting fraud, waste, or abuse involving Department of Education funds or programs should call (800) MISUSED or email oig.hotline@ed.gov to the Inspector General’s Hotline.

The Single Audit Report Generator application allows entities receiving federal funds from the Department of Education or the State of Idaho to report payment information by federal grant number. These reports are useful for reconciling and auditing federal receipts.
