
Direct Delivery USDA Foods
USDA Foods are an essential component of the NSLP and other domestic nutrition assistance programs. These programs serve as a significant outlet for stabilizing and supporting agricultural markets. USDA is continually responding to the needs of schools participating in the NSLP by making more fruits and vegetables available to schools, substantially improving the quality and nutrition profile of products provided, and better accommodating schools’ needs by offering a wide variety of direct-delivered USDA Foods including:
- Minimally processed lean meats and fish
- Canned and frozen vegetables
- Canned, frozen, and dried fruits
- Grains and whole grain-rich products
- Dairy products
- Nut and seed butters
- Vegetable oil
- Canned and dry legumes
