Student Health and Safety is responsible for suicide prevention, placing resource officers and nurses in schools, and advancing safe, drug-free schools and substance misuse prevention efforts. Student Health and Safety prioritizes upstream prevention activities and universal strategies that support all students. By relying on evidence-based practices and maximizing available resources, this comprehensive approach is designed to improve both academic achievement and behavioral health outcomes.
