Idaho Code 33-513 (1) requires school district board of trustees to use contract forms which are approved by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

The following provides guidance for specific contract use for professional personnel.

  • Category I Contract: 1 year contract – Signed contract after August 1st
  • Category II Contract: 1st or 2nd year contract – Signed contract before August 1st
  • Category III Contract: 3rd year of employment or staff who have not been recommended for professional endorsement/status
  • Renewable Contract: 4th year and beyond – met professional endorsement/status

Note: Contract templates approved on April 7, 2025 are up-to-date and can be used for the 2026-27 school year.
