The SDE does not regulate or authorize private schools in the state. The SDE Federal Programs team provides assistance to private schools regarding available federal funding for the schools and assistance in meeting the requirements related to the federal programs.

The SDE does work with Idaho’s Department of Health and Welfare to ensure residential schools are completing the accreditation requirements.

The first contact should be with the administrator of the school. If the concern is not resolved at that level then contact with the school’s board should be made.
