In August 2010, the U.S. Congress approved the federal Education Jobs Fund, a new
Federal program that provides $10 billion in assistance to states to save or create
education jobs for the 2010-2011 school year. Jobs funded under this program include
those that provide educational and related services for early childhood, elementary,
and secondary education. The State of Idaho will receive $51,641,026 in funding
from the Education Jobs Fund and distribute this funding to Idaho's public school
districts and public charter schools through the Public Schools Budget formula.
