The State Department of Education will award approximately 2 million for afterschool programs for the 2015-2016 school year. Funding is made possible through a federal allocation to states under the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program Title IVB. Successful applicants receive funding for up to five years. Eligible applicants include school districts, municipalities, community based organizations, faith-based organizations and private corporations.

Notification of Intent letters are due December 5, 2014:

The SDE recommends that all entities planning on submitting an application send an email documenting their intent to apply (a one sentence statement identifying the organization and intent to apply). This allows the SDE to contact all applicants about possible application updates or changes. Emails should include the name of the organization applying for funds, primary contact name, email address and phone number.

Bidder's workshops for this competition will be conducted around the State during November. Those planning to apply for funding are strongly encouraged to attend one of the all day workshops listed below. Recommended Participants include: Superintendent/CEO/President, Business/Fiscal Manager, Parents, and Program Director.
