ArtsPowered Schools Teacher Institute 2014

The Idaho Commission on the Arts and the Idaho State Department of Education (SDE) are partnering to offer a week-long professional development opportunity to elementary teachers and administrators. The 2014 ArtsPowered Schools (APS) Teacher Institute will take place June 9th-13th at the College of Idaho in Caldwell.

The focus of this year's institute is on literacy and the arts. Participants will learn to use the arts as a way to engage learners, meet the needs of a variety of students, increase literacy, and promote creativity and critical thinking. This year's special keynote speaker is Kurt Wootton, co-author of A Right to Read: Linking Literacy and the Arts.
