In an effort to better prepare students for post-secondary education or the workplace, the State Department of Education is proud to announce all public school sophomores will be provided the opportunity to take the PSAT, paid for by the state, beginning in the 2013-2014 school year.
The PSAT is a comprehensive assessment that provides students an array of data, college and career planning tools, and resources. On average, students who take the PSAT score 136 points higher on the SAT than those students who do not take the PSAT.
The PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. While administration of the PSAT will not be mandatory, we encourage schools to take advantage of the opportunity. Schools wishing to proctor the PSAT for their students should place their order by June 28, 2013.
