i-STEM Education - Idaho Science Technology Engineering Mathematics

i-STEM is a coordinated state-wide effort by the State Department of Education, Idaho Professional-Technical Education, Educators, businesses, and industry to support science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Our Belief

Teachers influence an infinite number of students and fill them with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions that will not only impact they way we live, how we live, but our nations resources and security. By joining together in partnership, we can support Idaho's educators and provide STEM professional development opportunities and resource for K-12 teachers which promote innovative thinking and powerful learning so that students are motivated and competent of bringing forth the solutions to tomorrow's problems.

Our Goal

STEM resource centers will be offered in Idaho where K-12 educators can learn best practices for integrating STEM materials and curriculum into their instructional practices. Centers will house a variety of materials and resources, and offer academies, hands-on workshops, and professional development opportunities to support project-based and inquiry-based methodologies in the classroom to enhance their instructional practices and motivate their students to learn.
