Alternative Authorizations

Alternative Authorizations are for school districts/charters looking to fill a position with a candidate that does not hold an appropriate certificate/endorsement.

Non-Traditional Routes to Certification

Non-Traditional routes to certification are for candidates who are utilizing one of the State Board of Education approved non-traditional routes. These candidates complete prerequisite requirements before applying and receiving a three (3) year Interim certificate. The candidate continues their preparation while working as the teacher of record. They must complete additional requirements during the three (3) year Interim certificate in order to qualify for a renewable five (5) year certificate.
