Fall 2020 Public Schools Reopening
The 2020–21 school year presents a unique set of opportunities and challenges due to the disruption to instruction in spring 2020, as well as the many questions associated with reopening schools in the fall of 2020. Superintendent Ybarra, the State Board of Education and the Governor’s office are committed to supporting school districts and charter schools to plan for a successful start to the 2020-2021 school year and for continuous learning in the event operations must be modified during the school year.
Back to School Framework
Idaho’s Back to School Framework provides consideration, recommendations, and best practices to ensure a safe and successful 2020-2021 school year. This framework was approved by the State Board of Education on July 9, 2020.
The Department of Health and Welfare is providing schools with additional information in defining levels of transmission risk. This guidance is a companion to page 8 in the Back to School Framework.
